Additional tips for your Shore Excursion to Pisa and Florence
Florence Tour
Your private driver will bring you to Florence to meet your private guide and start your “Florence and Pisa from Port” Tour.
Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, Fra Angelico, Giotto, Donatello, Brunelleschi, Galilei, Cellini, Dante, Machiavelli, and Savonarola are only a few names that made the history of Florence, one of the best places to visit in Italy.
Piazzale Michelangelo and Pitti Palace
Piazzale Michelangelo is a neoclassical terrace overlooking Florence and its river. This enchanting place is dedicated to the famous artist. Your private guide will make an introduction to the history of Florence, strictly related to its art masterpieces.
The 14th-century Palazzo Pitti houses significant art collections like the Palatine Gallery, one of Florence’s most visited galleries. The museum’s core is Raphael, Titian, Correggio, Rubens, Pietro da Cortona, and other Italian and European masters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Boboli Gardens is the magnificent architectural park where the Pitty Palace dominates the scene with its richly decorated rooms, a masterpiece themselves.
NOTE: Upon request and availability, we can book the Uffizi or the Accademia instead of the Pitti Palace, which is, anyway, highly recommended.
All Florence museums are closed on Monday, and our local guide will bring you to Palazzo Vecchio.
The 14th-century fortress-like palace, once the residence of the Medici family, is now the municipality’s seat. Inside, you will admire the incredibly decorated museum’s rooms, with works by Michelangelo Buonarroti, Donatello, and Verrocchio.
Ponte Vecchio Bridge
Florence has its romantic face in the spectacular views over the Arno river; what you must see in Florence is the picturesque Ponte Vecchio bridge. Antique and jewelry shops are in abundance.
Piazza della Signoria and Piazza del Duomo (from outside)
The main square in Florence is Piazza Della Signoria, among Florence’s top attractions. Here, beside Neptune Fountain, you will also see the magnificent Loggia dei Lanzi, a 14th-century open-air gallery enriched with unique original statues. In front of the imposing Palazzo Vecchio, there is a copy of the world-famous Michelangelo’s David. The tour continues with Piazza del Duomo, where Giotto Bell’s Tower and the unique Florence Cathedral Dome are the city’s Symbol. The octagonal Baptistery and his beautiful bronze doors by Ghiberti are the masterpieces completing this harmonic complex’s beauty.
Lunch included
Your guide will accompany you to the restaurant we selected for your lunch ( appetizer, pasta or main course. and water included )

Pisa Cathedral
The ticket to the Tower of Pisa includes the admission to the magnificent Cathedral. Pisa Cathedral is rich with beautiful works of art, inside and outside. Not only the bronze doors but also the west façade are spectacular! When inside, note the famous bronze lamp that inspired Galilei to discover the pendulum.
Marble Baptistery
The circular marble Baptistery is a few steps away with Nicola Pisano’s great Pulpit and the acoustic effect under the dome. You will discover how notes last hanging in mid-air, enough time to “sing with yourself.” (tickets not included; you can buy them on-site).
